Yolanda Be Cool is an Australian band comprising of the duo Sylvester Martinez and Johnson Peterson. Along with their Australian compatriot, producer DCUP, they’ve enjoyed enormous success in 2010 with the international dance hit “We No Speak Americano”. Fans of the cult classic “Pulp Fiction” will realise recognise the name “Yolanda Be Cool” from one of Samuel L. Jackson’s lines.

The track is based on the 1956 song “Tu vuò fà l’americano”, which featured in the hit film “It Started in Naples’‘ in 1960.

For those who find the melody familiar, perhaps you’ve heard it before in the film ”The Talented Mr. Ripley“, featuring Matt Damon und Jude Law.

Mixing swing tunes with a little bit of house music, along with the original Italian vocals, you’ll be automatically tapping your feet without realising. People who liked Lou Bega’s “Mambo Nr. 5″ are likely to be fans of this tune.
In fact, you don’t have to speak Americano to be a fan of the remixes of this track. On the A-Side there’s the original and a vocal edit. On the B-Side there’s the Morris vs. Mattara remix, plus an edit of We No Speak Americano. Enjoy.
